14 Christmas Questions

Welcome to a new post!

Today's post is another Christmas related one. I'm sorry that all that is coming are Christmas related posts right now, but I am so in the mood for them now, and I also don't have much time to write many blogposts at the moment as I have got quite a lot going on, so I better use the time wisely and spam you with some Christmas posts. 😏

It's all about answering some questions about Christmas today, because I thought it would be a really lovely but quick post, and I personally love finding out what other people think of these type of things. I didn't choose a particular Christmas tag because there were none that I felt like I liked all the questions of, so I decided to mix all of the ones out there together and add some of my own ideas. Let's dig into this!

1. What's your favourite Christmas film?

(Sources at the bottom)

Even though I haven't seen either of them many times it probably has to be either Elf or the Grinch. Both were bloody awesome and I really hope they will be back on TV pretty soon. German TV deffo doesn't show enough Christmas films, and that is so freaking sad, if you ask me.

2. Do you open your presents Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?

As I am German and I grew up in Germany I open my presents on Christmas Eve, just like everyone else around here. The 25th and 26th are usually the days we spend with the rest of our family and closest friends. I am really interested in seeing a British Christmas happening though, hopefully to happen in a few years, even though the urge to wait until the morning will probably be so hard.

3. Your perfect Christmas?

Well, it starts after a really good nights sleep and sleeping in. We then head downstairs and have a really nice breakfast in our pyjamas. And I need to have a Hot Chocolate! We spend the day not doing a lot, maybe going for a nice Christmas walk if the weather is nice, maybe playing a game or two, wrapping some last minute presents. In the evening we have a huge Christmas dinner, we clean up together, me and my brother go upstairs to play some more just like old times before our parents call us down to exchange presents. We all unwrap them together and then spend the night trying them out, maybe watching a Christmas film together. A day full of joy and happiness waaaah that sounded a little cheesy, didn't it? I can't help it, sometimes the author inside of me just can't stop herself.

4. Favourite Christmas Gift?

Probably my Urban Decay Naked palette that I got last year, because I totally didn't expect it , and I had been asking for it for like two or three years already and never got it, even though I wanted it so badly. I was so freaking happy, I legit stared at it for days, and it's still very well used and loved.

5. Any Christmas traditions?

No presents until after we have had dinner at night and cleaned up as a family!

6. Favourite Christmas scent?

You might be expecting a candle scent or something here, but to be honest, growing up German, I can only say my favourite scent is the smell of Christmas markets. They are probably the best thing ever, especially when you go at night, snuggled up in layers of clothes and having something hot to drink. The smells of almonds and Glühwein and crepes and popcorn and chocolate fruit and whatever the hell you would expect from a Christmas market - it's so freaking addicting!

7. Favourite Christmas song?

Bloody hell, this one's hard. I mean, who doesn't love a good Christmas song or two...maybe a hundred? One obviously has to be Last Christmas. I also love Santa Tell Me by Ariana Grande and Mistletoe by Justin Bieber, All I Want For Christmas by Mariah Carey, Feliz Navidad and so many more I am forgetting right now. Even Frozen songs are on my Christmas playlist, there's just way too many.

8. Real or fake Christmas tree?

Real!!! Fake ones are a great idea, but I want the smell of a real one, the feel of a real one, and I can't deal with ones that don't have that, even if my dad tried to pursue me that we got one.

9. Dream place to visit around Christmas time?

Definitely Sweden. It's probably the only place that I dream about going around winter. I'd love to visit the Christmas markets and finally experience a proper white Christmas again.

10. Are you a pro-present wrapper or do you fail miserably?

Well, that definitely depends on what I am wrapping and whether I am having a good present wrapping day or not. I can do it quite nicely but as soon as it gets to weird shapes like circles etc it looks like a child wrapped it. 😃

11. Peeking at gifts or being surprised?

I hate knowing what I am getting, even if I make a list of things that I would like. I am not one to love surprises too much I think, but when it comes to presents, I would rather be surprised. Especially presents that you didn't expect and are really thoughtful are some of the best ones in my opinion.

12. On this year's wishlist?

Not that much actually. I would love to get some vouchers maybe from a few different places, and I have put some books on there, a DVD or two and some little beauty bits, and I think that's pretty much it. Oh no wait, a pair of Chelsea boots that I have been wanting to get ever since they started appearing on fashion blogs and in shops.

13. PJs or dress-up?

I think PJ's and comfy clothes are the way to go until the afternoon, and then I love dressing up a little bit, even if we don't end up going outside to see anyone. I don't do much, but I like putting some nicer clothes and a golden glittery make-up look on for an occasion like that. I mean, it only happens once a year.

14. Tree decoration colours?

I know this is a pretty random one, but I know we are not the only ones that have arguments about this from time to time. I personally am not a big fan of pink, blue or silver on a tree, but red and gold is the way to go!

Tell me some facts about your Christmas? How do you celebrate? I am so interested in finding out about different traditions, so please feel free to tell us all! :)

I hope you have an amazing week ♥

TOP 5 Lip Lovings

Welcome to a new post!

I felt like I haven't done a beauty related post in ages, so I thought it was the time to. Personally, the two parts I love most about my make-up routine is eyeshadow and lip products. I feel like I have exactly five colours out of all my make-up that I keep on using, talking about lip products, which is why we're talking my TOP 5 lip products today. I personally love natural lips the best, and I'd rather invest in a good lipstick than a lipgloss, as I am not really a fan of my hair getting stuck on my lips 24/7. So that is exactly what I have been trying to do for the past year, instead of buying tons of cheap stuff that ends up not being properly worth it.

MAC 'Syrup'

This is the lipstick that was supposed to be my first ever high end and MAC lipstick, but actually ended up being my second, as it was literally ALWAYS sold out. It ended up being one of the best purchases I did, and the voucher money was definitely spend wisely! Even though it is much more sheer than the creamy ones that I usually swatch, it still comes out looking so pretty on the lips! It's a Lustre finish, and quite a natural colour. I'd describe it as a natural pinky shade, slightly shimmering, but being the perfect mix between noticeable and absolutely natural shaded. You have to reapply it a little more often than Satin finishes, but it disappears quite evenly. If you prefer rose toned, natural lip colours like I do, this is the colour for you to go with.

Fleur de Force ' 020 Written in the Stars'

I knew I wanted this lipgloss straight away when Fleur announced her beauty line, and I am so happy I asked for this for my birthday. As I already mentioned, I am not really the biggest fan of lipgloss, but this one has blown me away. The consistency is so lovely. I feel like it's more of a sticky lip stain, because it stays on that long. It looks like a lipgloss, but literally feels like a lipstick as long as you aren't walking through a storm throwing your hair around. But not just the consistency, but also the colour. It's a really pretty inbetween a rosy and peachy shade. It's another natural colour, but the fact that it's glossy makes it go all boom out on your lips. If you want a natural peachy, pinky shade that is still nicely noticeable, and don't care that it's a little sticky at the beginning, check this one out!

MAC 'Brave'

This is actually the lipstick that I bought instead of 'Syrup' at the beginning, since it was sold out, but Brave was right behind it on my wishlist. This is another natural shade, really pretty for every day wear, even to school. It's a Satin finish, making it quite long lasting compared to Syrup. It's a little warmer than that one though, and a bit more browney-pinky toned than rosy toned. The colour stays on your lips for quite  a while, but I've been noticing that when I'm drinking a lot there's only a weird looking patch on my bottom lip left. But all in all still a great lipstick - otherwise I wouldn't be showing it to you in this post ;)

Urban Decay ' Rush'

This colour is actually quite similar to Brave, and it wasn't even the colour I was meant to buy - cheers to the people at the counter giving the wrong names to the lipsticks! However, I actually really like this colour. It's slightly more lilac toned than Brave, but there's not much of a difference. I feel like the biggest difference is actually how it feels on your lips. I feel like this one is a little more smooth on my lips, so whenever I feel like putting something a little more moisturizing on my lips I'll go for Rush rather than Brave.

Tanya Burr 'Enchanted Forest'

I always wanted this colour but never bought it because I thought I would never wear it and it wouldn't be worth the money, until I found it on Amazon for 5€. I have actually not been wearing it that often, however I absolutely love it. It's a little more noticeable than my other favourites, as it is a darker pinkish shade - perfect, especially for the colder seasons! It doesn't always go on that well, and it can look a little patchy from time to time, but put over a lipstick, you don't even notice it anymore. It's a really lovely consistancy, and even if it's a little sticky, it isn't the biggest hair-catcher, if you want to call it something :D.

I'm always looking for some new lip inspiration. What are some of your favourite lip products? Tell me, I'd love to find out! :)
Have a great day ♥

5 Favourites of January

Welcome to a new post!

I can't believe that January is already over and also the first month of 2016! It hasn't been my favourite month, but I do have a few favourites to show you, so I picked 5 things that I have loved in January.

Here's a quick overlook of the things that I actually own, and that I have loved using this month. Some of them you might have seen already on this blog, but I thought I would talk about them anyway, as I truly am obsessed with them, and want to share my honest opinion with you.

This is one of my newest babies which I treated myself to with the vouchers that I got for my Birthday and Christmas. I have wanted this lipstick for literally forever and every time I went to the MAC counter it was sold out, but then I ordered it and I am so happy I can finally call it my own.
It's the MAC lipstick in the colour 'Syrup'. Lily Pebbles had been talking about this for a quite a while, and I always loved that colour on her, and even more when I googled for swatches. It is different to any other colour of lipstick that I own, as it is pink and natural, but the hint of a red makes it look absolutely stunning. Since it's a lustre finish, it doesn't stay on quite as long as my other MAC one, but the colour and look in general are so perfect that it personally doesn't really bother me that much.
This is probably the most perfect lipstick for me, and the best purchase I could have made, I feel like!

Next up is another product that I only got recently, but you will probably already be bored of hearing about. But the Urban Decay Naked 1 has been my go to eyeshadow palette ever since I have got it. I was never really the person to wear many shimmery shades, but this palette has made me fall completely in love with them. I won't talk about this for ages again, so let's just say that my favourite and most used shades are Naked, Buck, Half Baked, Smog and Hustle.

I bought myself my first EOS lipbalm right when they first came out in Germany. I went for the strawberry flavour. To be honest, I don't think that they are completely worth the price, as they aren't really that moisturizing for it. They are alright, don't get me wrong, but not as good as some people make them sound. I do however love the taste of this one, and so I have loved using it this month, whenever I needed a tiny bit of moisture, and not a lot.

You also have seen my Kindle before, which I got for my birthday. I have been reading a lot more since I got it, and I love it so much as it relaxes me a lot! If you would like to know everything that I have read this month on here, let me know, and I'll give you another blogpost about it. :)

Last but not least, you probably already know that I love watching series, and I also talked about other obsessions of mine here and here, if you would like to read more about that.
I already talked about How to Get Away with Murder, so I am going to only talk about revenge today.
I started this series right after I finished the other one, as it has been on my list for quite a while as well. I've seen quite a few people on twitter talking about it, and I completely see why.
The story follows Emily Thorne, who's actual name is Amanda Clarke. Her father died for something he didn't do, and now she is taking revenge on everyone that made this happen.
Pretty short summary I know, but trust me it's amazing. I wasn't really the biggest fan of season 3, but I finished season 4 last night, and I absolutely loved it! I personally think season 4 is the best one, even if it's the last one, and the last episode was probably my favourite of all!
I feel like this kind of the more real and grown up version of Pretty Little Liars, so if you like that and you are looking for a new series, check it out! It's amazing!

I hope you enjoyed this post. Tell me some of your favourites this month, and any recommendations you can give me. :)

Love, Jacqueline Xx

TBR List 2016

Welcome to a new post!

Ever since I can remember I have loved books, even before I was able to read them myself. I got this from my mum, and reading and writing has always been a passion of mine. In 2012 I really did not read many books, because I discovered new things to do on the internet and Social Media. I loved it, but something was missing. I finally found that missing piece again when I challenged myself to read my first book in English and went for John Green's The Fault in Our Stars. It really brought my love and passion back, and I have since set it my goal to not stop again. In 2015 I actually read quite a lot at the beginning and kind of towards the middle of the year, but in the second half it defintely went down, also because of school. I don't want that to happen this year, even though it's going to be a busy one, as it's a task I enjoy and that really calms me down and makes me forget everything around me.

If you've seen my What I Got For My Birthday and Christmas post, you will know that I got a Kindle. Ever since I have downloaded tons of samples of books that have been on my reading list, and I thought I would show you which of these books I'm hoping to read this year.

Since You've Been Gone - Morgan Matson

Let's start off with a little cheat actually, since I am already reading this book. I actually came up with the idea for this post before I bought it on my Kindle, but I thought I would show it to you anyway as I am only 40% in so far.
It's about Emily who used to not go to parties and talk to guys and stuff like that, until she met Sloane, who is bascially totally different in those points. The summer that they have planned is supposed to be epic, but Sloane suddenly disappears with her family, and only leaves a list for Emily behind, full of things Emily would never ever dare to try. But she is hoping that the list will lead her to her best friend, so she starts working on the list.

The Infinite Sea - Rick Yancey

This is the sequel to The 5th Wave, which you might have heard about, as it's film has just started being shown at cinemas. It's a Sci-Fi series, and it so amazing. If you love The Maze Runner and Divergent, I guess this might be something for you. Basically there are certain waves that aliens, also named the 'Others', brought to earth, killing people with a virus and stuff like that. Cassie is the main character, and she is basically left alone and meets some other people in the first book, with whom she now has to try and survive, and save humanity. I absolutely loved the first book, so I cannot wait what this one has to hold. Let's just hope it's better than the Maze Runner Sequel :D.

Bliss - Shay Mitchell and Michaela Blaney

If you like Pretty Little Liars you will probably know Shay Mitchell, who plays Emily. Together with her best friend she wrote this novel, and I've been quite interested in it ever since I heard about it, and even more since I read the sample of it.
The story basically follows three friends, named Sophia, Demi and Leandra, who all went of different paths after school. Demi and Leandra don't get along anymore either. The book is about friendship and all the uncertain things that the early 20's bring to you. I don't completely know what to expect from this, but I am quite exited to see what Shay and Michela have published.

Confess - Collen Hoover

So far I have read two books by Collen Hoover, and since I liked them both, I am really exited what this one will be like, as a lot of people swear by her books.
It tells the story of Auburn, who has lost everything that is important to her, and now she tries to fix the pieces that her life has become. She meets Owen at an art studio. Auburn puts her heart into it, but then finds out that he is keeping a major secret from coming out, which could threaten everything that is important to Auburn. The only way to save their relationship, is for Owen to confess.
I think it sounds quite interesting, and I am looking forward to find out what that major secret is, that Owen is holding back.

Hello Life! - Marcus Butler

I wasn't really sure wether I wanted to read Marcus' book, as I am not really the person that enjoys the book by male youtubers, but I read the first few pages that I was able to download for free, and now I am actually more interested in it. The book contains parts of Marcus' story and expierences, but also health tips and things like that. I am not sure wether this will be incredible, but I am interested to see how the whole book will turn out to be like.

Where The Road Takes Me - Jay McLean

I actually found this book randomly while strolling through the Kindle store, and I think it sounds kinda interesting.
Chloe has only got one plan for her future, which is the road. She has given herself the promise, that she won't open herself up to anyone, in case that person could threaten her plans. She then meets Blake during a dark night, who is pretty broken, but is trying hard not to show anyone. Everything changes for Blake, while nothing changes for Chloe, since she is focused on the road. But they then get closer, and the road leads them somewhere completely different.
I love travelling, as well as love stories, so let's just hope this is going to be a good one!

Legend - Marie Lu

If you follow booktube or you like books in general, you will probably have heard about this. I have literally wanted to read this for like forever, and I don't know why I still haven't done that, as it sounds so good and everyone is talking about it. It's another Sci-Fi and dystopian series as well.
I will just quote the actual summary from Amazon here, since I think it is actually quite good in my opinion:

-He is Day. The boy who walks in the light. She is June. The girl who seeks her brother's killer. On the run and undercover, they meet by chance. Irresistably drawn together, neither knows the other's past. But Day murdered June's brother. And she has sworn to avenge his death.-

Before - Anna Todd

This book was written by Anna Todd, who is quite for the famous After series, which used to be a Harry Styles fanfiction on Wattpad, which was published. This book tells Hardin's life, so the other main character from After, and his story before he met Tess, and what happens after the After series.
Even though I didn't love every whole book of the series, I loved all of them, and couldn't take them down, so this is a must to read.

Carrie Hope Fletcher - All I Know Now

Carrie is another youtuber, which I have been following for quite a while. Some of you may know her from being Tom Fletcher's sister. She also stares in Les Miserables in the Westend, and is just an amazing and quite lovely person in my opinion. This book is full of adive and stories from her life, which I am so exited for, as I quite like these kind of books, especially from people that I have followed and liked for a while.

Gayle Forman - Just One Day

To be honest I had to properly look up what this book is about, as I literally had just put this on my list, because I have read all of Gayle's other books and I absolutely loved them a hell of a lot, so I just really want to read this series of two.
The book tells the story of Allyson, who meets an a dutch actor in England. When she wakes up after an amazing day in Paris, she discovers that William has left. She embarks on a a journey to come to terms with the narrow confines of her life, through Shakespeare, a quest for her love and travel, to break free from those confines.

Me Before You - Jojo Moyes

Most of you will probably have heard about as well, as literally everyone has been raving about it for months, maybe even years, and it is being made into a movie as well!
The story follows Lou Clark who knows quite a lot of things. She doesn't know though, that she is about to lose her job or that knowing what's coming is what keeps her sane. Will Traynor knows that his desire to live was taken away by his motorcycle accident. He also knows how to put a stop to that. But the meeting of the both will change the other forever.

Prisoner of Night and Fog - Anne Blankman

This is the kind of book I have never read as it is a historical one. I found this through Sasha Alsberg, one of my favourite booktubers, who talked about this. I have always liked learning and reading about the World Wars, and this story takes place in Munich in 1930.
Gretchen is under the wing of her Uncle Dolf, who is none other than Adolf Hitler. Gretchen follows his every command. But she then meets a young Jewish reporter, named Daniel, who says that her father was actually murdered. She doesn't know what to believe, but soon discovers a lot of secrets. She has to determine her own allegiances, even if her choices could kill Daniel and her.

Jenny Han - To All The Boys I've Loved Before

This book has been on my radar for a while as well, and I am looking forward to jumping into the story this year.
Lara Jean's love life is pretty crazy and has tons of different sides, basically. She keeps all of the love letters she has written before in a box. One for every of the five boys she has ever loved. When writes, she pours out everything, and the letters are only meant to be for her. But then suddenly all of her secret letters are mailed, and her love life goes out of control.

The Air He Breathes - Brittainy C. Cherry

This is the last book of my list so far, and another one that I discovered whilst scrolling through the Kindle Store.
Our protagonist is warned about Tristan Cole. He is meant to be cruel and damaged. But she can't just judge a man by his past, because she is also damaged, just like he is. So she accepts the challenge, as they are both empty, looking for something else and want to put together the shattered pieces of their past.
I think it actually sounds a bit different to the usual stories, and I absolutely love that not everyone is talking about a book that I want to read for once, and it's also another series. I am quite exited to explore something completely new, that I hadn't heard about before I saw it in the store.

I hope you enjoyed this blogpost, as I loved doing something book related again, since I love both reading and writing, and I really want to make more time for both this year. Please leave me some recommendations down below or on my social medias of books that I should check out and read! :)

Have a good day!

Current Daily Make-Up for School

Welcome to a new post!

I personally like wearing make-up for school, and I am also allowed to, which I sometimes am pretty thankful for. I thought I would show you the things that I currently wear  on a daily basis to go there.

I had a phase back during November and December when I just loved putting a lot of eyeshadow on, maybe because I felt like if I had to stress myself out with exams I could at least give myself some time for a nice eye look. I don't really know, but at the moment I am definetely back to a very quick and simple look, and prefer to rather put on a nice lipstick to top it off, since that takes a lot less time.

Usually I start with putting some of my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer on my spots and blemishes. You will probably all know how much it is hyped, so I won't go into much detail, as I completely agree.
I don't like that one for under my eyes though, because I want something a bit more creamy and less thick to actually feel a bit more awake and not just look like it. I don't really know why I feel like that, but I just go with it, and use my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer under my eyes. It was the first thing I actually spend a little bit more money on when I got into make-up and ever since then I have been repurchasing it over and over. This has to be like my 4th or 5th one, as I love it so much! It is really nice and creamy but not to thick, has an amazing colour to suit me (shade 15) and it stays on really well.

You might be thinking I am forgetting my eyebrows, but I am not. I go straight to my eyes, because I don't do anything to my eyebrows apart from setting them into place with a brush, as they are so bushy and black, no one believes me I ain't use any products on them. :D
So since I got my Naked palette for Christmas, I haven't been using any other palette since, as it has a perfect range of shades, for whatever colour I feel like using. My personal favourites so far are Naked, Buck, Half Baked and Smog. Depending on what I feel like I am either using some glittery shades with either Virgin or Buck to blend it, or if I am feeling like a little less colour, I will use Naked and Buck, or even nothing at all.
I am so happy I finally own this palette, because it really is my favourite make-up product I own as I absolutely love the texture and shade range of the eyeshadows.

Then I am using my favourite mascara combo at the moment, which consists of the Yves Rocher Sexy Pulp one and the Maybelline Lash Sensational. I used to only use the Last Sesational, but I am currently really liking the mix of both of the mascaras, as I feel like the Yves Rocher one seperates my lashes really niceley while the Lash Sensational does and amazing job at lengthening.

Ever since I got back from England in March last year, I don't think I have been using any other powder than the Rimmel Stay Matte one. I only owned one powder before, but I was felt like you wear able to really clearly see it and it's colour, and it would get cakey after some time. With this one I don't get either of those problems, as I chose the transparent one, and it feels really nice on the skin and is really unnoticeable. I never had much truble with shinyness, but still absolutely love the finish of this powder.
Before I use powder I will sometimes use some concealer again under my eyes, if I feel like mascara made it appear a bit darker again, but that usually doesn't happen that often.

For lip products I usually like to go for something really natural, just to give it all a nice little ending touch, but not make it appear too much, not just because I am not really the person to wear that many darker shades on my lips.

One lip product that I go for sometimes which is a bit more colourful though is Zoe Sugg's Lip Balm in the shade or taste 'Vanilla Cream'. It gives your lips a really nice reddish, pinky colour but also moisturizes them really really well, much better than other coloured lip balms I have tried.
Then there is one of my newest addiotions to my collection, the Urban Decay lipstick in 'Rush'. It's a really nice natural rosy shade with a brown undertone, that makes it appear really smooth, which it actually feels like as well.
Lastly for lip products I have been loving Fleur De Force's lipstick in '020 Written In The Stars'. It's almost like a lip stain I would say, and if you want something that looks like a lipgloss, as it's really glossy, but also something that stays on really long, these will be something for you.

I hope you enjoyed this post, even though there are a lot of these going around on the internet. Make sure to leave me some of your favourite make-up products for school or uni or work down below. :)
