A New Chapter

Welcome to a new post!

The time has finally come, that my blog has had a makeover! I've been wanting to change the look of it for a few months, even though I've not even owned it for a whole year! But I'm a person that loves a change of design, whether it comes to my room, my school supplies or my blog.

I have to say, I learned whilst playing around with the settings and templates, that I am not as good with this thing as I thought I could be. I really want to have some swishy pictures at the top, and have it really monochromy but still really pretty and full of colours. That didn't turn out quite the way I wanted it to, but I feel like I've still come up with a pretty decent result, which I am a lot happier with.

I added a little more purple, as I really like that colour, came up with a new header, changed up my whole side bar, to make it better and prettier at the same time, I corrected my 'ABOUT' and 'CONTACT' pages, and added some other little things.

I'm really looking forward to working on this blog even further, and write more and more blogposts. I've got quite a few lovely ones planned for the next few months, which I am really exited to share with you.

I've also put up a little poll on the side bar, where you can vote your favourite type of blogposts, so I have an idea of what you would like to see most of. You can also find my most popular blogposts of the past few weeks in the side bar, as well as being able to translate my posts, view every blogpost I ever made There are all of my Social Media links, where you can follow and contact me, as well as my most favourite quote, which gave me the idea what to name blog in the first place.

I'm now at 2,2K views as I am writing this, which for some of you might be pretty lame and not a lot, but to be honest, I am happy about every view I get, and I love seeing where all of you come from, and what blogposts are most popular. I won't end up as the new Zoella, I know that, so I'll not take any of these views for granted. I love this blog a lot, as I can talk about everything that I feel like getting off of my chest. I really want to thank every single one of you, that have ever read a blogpost of mine, everyone that is reading this right now. Thank you for giving me this space. Thank you for listening and reading.

If you are thinking about starting a blog, I can only recommend you to start right now. Go do a little research, and then start straight away. What the hell are you waiting for? You ain't going to be able to talk about all the stuff you love, if you don't start right now. It might be a little hard to keep up at some points, but if you really want it, it will be worth it! We spend way too much of our life time doing things we don't want to do, and waiting till we do the things that we actually do want to do.

I'm still not 100% happy with the design, but it's a start. I might as well take it as a chance to learn more about this stuff, to keep on making it better. I'd love to see you guys engage in it. What do you want to see? What don't you want to see? What do you want me to talk about that you would love to hear about? Is there a certain topic you think I should address, or a certain product you would like me to try and talk about, would you like to see more personal stuff, or stuff about people I adore? Tell me anything, and I will make it work out. This isn't only my blog. It's also yours, and I want you to be part of it.

I'm going to spend a few days in Berlin soon, where I'll have some blogposts prepared, and I am about write something else that I am pretty exited to post about, apart from my Berlin adventures of course,  - Potterheads get exited! ;)

Also let me know, how you like the new design! And tell me how your day has been so far!

I hope you have an amazing day, and an amazing week ♥

Baking With Tanya

Welcome to a new post!

I've been waiting to do this post for months, and now is finally the time that I have got Tanya Burr's new book in my hands and I am able to flick through it, talk about it and bake bake bake bake and...bake!

If you don't know what the hell I am talking about, you are missing out! Tanya Burr is a youtuber, blogger, etc and she has recently published her 2nd book. Her first one called 'Love, Tanya' included various different categories, such as life stuff, make-up and hair bits and baking. Her second one called 'Tanya Bakes', came out last week, and as the name already says is all about baking. I already loved trying the recipes from her first book, so I immediatley knew that I needed to get this.

If you like baking and good food, you better keep reading because this might be your new favourite book! I cannot even tell you how proud I am of Tanya, because she has truly done an amazing job with this book, just like she did with the first one! I tried two recipes already, so get ready for pictures and a little review! :)

To start off - can we please talk about this cover???!!!! I literally think it's one of the prettiest ones I've ever seen, I'm absolutely in love with it. This is definitely something that I'll have to put on display in my room, because I can't make that beauty be unseen.

Let's talk about the book in general. The book is available as a hardcover, as well as an e-book. The hardcover version is currently only £8.49! So get that thing quickly if you want to pay only little money.

As the usual cooking/baking book it contains pretty pictures with each recipe, which are all sorted into different categories. It starts with a little introduction by Tan obviously, and then it's time to finally dig into the categories Cookies & Biscuits - Muffins, Cupcakes & Traybakes - Cakes & Loaves - Puddings - Pastry - Bread - Brunch - Special Occasions. As you might be able to tell, there is something for everyone and every occasion inside.

Now I am very picky with the type of cakes that I eat, which is why I was really surprised about how many things I wanted to try! I literally thought I wasn't going to like half of the recipes, but you don't want to see how many post-its are in there right now - it's ridiculous. This is a baking book for literally everyone, and not just the people that basically eat whatever you put in front of them! There's fruity bits, 'dry' bits, veeery chocolaty bits and very easy recipes as well.

Cheesecake & Dark Chocolate Cupcakes

White Chocolate & Nutella Pinwheel Biscuits

Salted Caramel Cheesecake

Strawberry Tarts

Birthday Cake

These are a few of my favourite bits. I literally cannot wait to try those Cheesecake & Dark Chocolate cupcakes. I repeat - CHEESECAKE AND DARK CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES! Sorry if you don't think that sounds nice at all, but I am so obsessed with both dark chocolate and cheesecake omg, I need them in my life! I'll let you know how they went!

Here are some impressions from my first, and very spontanous, Saturday morning baking session, baking Mary Berry's Chocolate Fork Biscuits. I personally really like them, though my parents don't because they think they don't taste of anything? I actually think they taste like brownies, which I find really nice! Though I would say that there definitely is a need of milk, because I literally had a dry mixture without it haha. And they taste best when they are still a little warm, so try that if you want to make them!

We also had the Crepes this morning in school, because we decided to end French class with it, since they are the last few hours of French most of us have left (yessss! hehehe). I was a little critical because the mixture seemed a little bubbly, but everyone ended up loving them, so great job Tan!

To sum it all up - if you like baking there is no way you can go without getting this book! There is such a big variety of easy and very very delicious recipes, and I cannot wait to try them myself, and also for you to try them if you actually end up getting it! Well done, Tan!

What is your favourite baking book? What's your favourite baked bit? Are you more of the fruity or chocolaty type of cake person? I'd love to find out! :)

Have a great day! ♥

Baking Chocolate-Brazil Nut-Cookies

Welcome to a new post!

I've never done a baking post before because I was never quite sure what to show you, as we usually bake really easy and quick things on the usual days. However I recently bought myself a new cooking book, as I really want to do more of that. That is what also inspired me to make this recipe, which is inspired by one of the ones in the actual book.
Chocolate-Brazil Nut-Cookies sounded so cool and tasty, but not too exotic, so I thought I would give them a try!

To be completely honest I thought all together they were only around 130 calories if I would have made the complete actual recipe, but it turns out I forgot to read the 'each cookie contains' right next to it...:D *FAIL*. It was already way too late as the cookies were already in the oven, but whatever, they taste soo nice so I'm just not going to care and treat myself to one every once in a while!

They are really easy to make and even my brother and my father who are usually very critical with stuff like that love the recipe, so here's how to make them!

  You will need:

  • 50g butter
  • 50g vegetable fat
  • 150g brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 5 drops vanilla flavour
  • 1 TBSP milk
  • 100g flour
  • 100g oats
  • 1 TSP baking soda
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 175g dark chocolate drops
  • 75g crunched brazil nuts

Steps:

1) Mix the butter, egg, sugar, milk, vegetable fat and vanilla flavour with a mixer or Kitchen Aid for at least 3 minutes until it's creamy but still a little fluffy.

2) Mix the oats, the flour, the salt and the baking soda in a different bowl and then add it to the mixture you have made before. Also add the nuts (if you can't find any crashed ones, simply put them into a plastic bag and use something like a food hammer to crash them) and the chocolate drops at this point, and make sure to mix it all well, bevor you either close your bowl with it's lid or with a piece of clingfilm, and leave it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

3) Pre-heat the oven to around 180° whilst you put a sheet of baking paper on your tray. Then start making little chunks of dough, best with a spoon or two. Make sure to leave enough space between them as they spread out quite a lot in the oven.

4) Bake the cookies for around 15 minutes, and then let them cool for around another 15 minutes if you still want them to be a little warm and gewy, or longer if you want them to be completely finished.

And now - get baking, and enjoy your cookies! :)

How did you like this different style of blogpost? Do you want more baking and cooking bits on here? Let me know, what you would like to see!

Have a great day! ♥
