6 Spring Wardrobe Additions

Welcome to a new post!

Spring is here, and with that comes short sleeved weather. Seeing as I spend the last few years only buying few things, I am now standing in front of a huge list of things I need, as I seem to practically have way too little shirts for the warmer times. With my internship approaching, I also need a few new shirts and other bits for that. So me and some friends headed to Frankfurt, and I actually found quite a few bits that I liked. However, there are still some things on my list, so if you have any tips where to look for cute pieces for Summer and Spring that aren't too expensive, let me know.

I'm really sorry that these pictures aren't that great, but I sadly don't have the time to find someone to help me with them right now. I'll try to do better next time.

 H&M

It's a little see through, but I don't think you can do a lot wrong with a white blouse, sprinkled with dots. The v-neck isn't too deep either and it's a piece you can easily dress up and down, wearing it with a huge ass, but very comfy cardigan or with a blazer, for example.

Hollister

This is one of the pieces I got from my voucher. I was really surprised to see that it actually turned out to look a lot better on than I thought it would, because tops like that usually tend to not be very figure hugging. White is a risk for me, as I easily spill stuff over me, and it's also slightly see-through, but it was too pretty not to take with me.

Hollister

This shirt is actually a bit too big for me, but I didn't want to carry that voucher with me for another four years, so I decided to get it anyway. It's just fine when stuffing it into your jeans or shorts.

Vero Moda

I actually didn't really want to buy black clothes, or dull colours in general, but this looked really good on, and it's also armpit free - aka sweet free, which is great. I still need some other clothes, so I guess I'm going to have to force myself to buy some colours.

Primark

To be completely honest, this is actually from the men section. But the design was too nice not to take it with me. In the end it's still a t-shirt, no need for gender labels.

ONLY

I don't buy many dresses for some reason, even if I love them. I need something nice to wear on my first day at work though, which is not allowed to be a pair of jeans, so I thought this would only be perfect. I can easily wear it all through summer as well, and it wasn't too expensive either. I had to get it.

~

Soo, did you make any new additions to your Spring wardrobe yet? What have been your favourite places to get clothes from right now? Leave some suggestions, and you might find them in another blogpost when I've gotten the other bit of clothing that I need. :)

Have an amazing start to the new week ♥

June Chats 2016

Welcome to a new post!

Guess who's finally back! Yes, I am still alive and exam season is finally over. Thank goodness! I hope everyone else that had exams did well, and if your one's are still going - good luck to you, you can do this! :)

I can't even tell you how desperate I was to come back to blogging. I missed it so much, but since I wasn't really sure what the best post would be to kinda get back on track, I decided to start a little series that I could do whenever I feel like writing something a little more personal and longer but don't have any ideas, or I just don't have much time to write.

I want this to be a little blogpost featuring some moments of my month, things I feel like that I want or need to talk about, making this blog a little more personal than it currently is. Sometimes that might only feature places I went to in the months, other times I might be talking a little bit about politics and things I've been loving. There's many things that could happen in these posts, but I'm really exited for it, and I hope you are too.

Exam season

I've been moaning about this for weeks, but I feel it's something I have to mention, as it took up most of my month and freetime. It actually started in the middle of May, and there were only two weeks that were properly stressy. I ended up not doing as well as I would've liked in some of my favourite subjects because of that, but oh well, I guess that's life and I need to accept that. So far, I only know my marks in a few ones since most teachers had to do a lot of A-level stuff, but at least there were some uplifting ones in between. It all finally finished on Friday (the 24th), and I cannot tell you how happy I am. Now all I've got left to do is finish my comic for Arts class till Monday (only 3 pictures to go yay....), write a speech for Further English, do a voluntary Chemistry presentation and hand in 1000 words for German class. But these things worry me slightly less than exams. So yay for finishing. See you back in Autumn exams....:D

Driving lessons

I'm not sure whether I've ever told you on my blog before, if you follow my Twitter (@dancingitrain23) you will have probably heard, but I've been taking driving lessons for about two months now. I've got another one in an hour from writing this, meaning that after today I'll be half way through! :o I also might be going on the Autobahn today....kinda scared to be honest. I'll tell you how it was when I am back. Update: It was horrendous. I hadn't driven the petrol car before, only the diesel one, and it turns out that I definitely prefer diesel....We didn't drive on the Autobahn, but that'll probably be happening on Tuesday. We'll see how that goes (prays to drive the diesel one).

Brexit

Seeing as I am German, you might think that Brexit hasn't affected me that much, but it actually has. Seeing as I have a lot of dreams including England throughout and after my A-levels, I did quite a lot of reading. I'm not the person that has a very high interest in politics, but I felt like talking about it. I pretty sure I would've voted to stay in the EU to be honest. Not only because I am scared of change, but because I didn't really see that many positive points in leaving. I understand why some people would want to leave, but only to a certain point.
What I don't understand is why people have to manipulate others in order to succeed in what they think is the right thing to do. Why can't you let people make a decision upon real facts? Another point I wanted to mention, in which I understand the 16-17 year olds, which are not able to vote is, that the older generation basically decided their future. I am not saying that these people shouldn't deserve to vote nor that it doesn't affect them. I know that that's how democracy works, but I can totally understand what these people feel like. People that had planned to study and travel in and around Europe will now have a lot more difficulties and probably higher prices, less chances to get into certain stuff etc. I understand why they are mad. I'm upset about it myself, because it is very likely to have a high influence on my own further education.

But on the other side, who knows what positive effects this might have on all of us. It'll be tough, but we have to keep in mind that there's always a little rain before the sunshine.

If you think that the decision wasn't the right one and you are from the UK, HERE is a link to a petition which has already been signed by over 3 million people in order to get a second chance to vote. I can't guarantee that anything's going to happen though..

Orlando

Another political kinda topic I obviously had to mention was Orlando. I literally cannot believe what happend at that club. All of it, done by one person. It's terrible, and I really hope that one day my grandchildren will be able to hear about this in class and think how weird and shit a world must've been like when people weren't equal and got killed for being attracted to the same gender. I only hope that the U.S. will learn from this situation and finally do something about their gun laws, at least in the slightest. This should've never happend, and I am praying that nothing like this is ever going to happen again. People shouldn't suffer or die because they love someone of the same gender. That is not right, and not what we stand for in today's society, in my opinion.

Workout update

Well, this is completely different, yet I wanted to mention it. For around a month now I've been doing Anna Saccone-Joly's workouts with her personal trainer Lucy, and I am loving them. I've been seeing some proper results on my body, and I feel so much stronger and better. I love how there's a new workout for each week, which really gives me the strength to power through. There are always one or two moves I hate, but it is so worth it, and whenever I've finished the 3 rounds per day I am sweaty and happy as hell. If you haven't tried them yet, I'll leave a link HERE. They are incredible, and you don't even need any equipment, nor a gym!

Talking about the gym, I actually haven't had to chance to go that often this month, due to driving lessons and school. I've also ended my contract for the end of August, as I am probably going to have even less time in grade 12, and I feel like the price doesn't work out for me. It's a way to get myself out of the house, but that's also the tricky part with only little time and no drivers license. I never use many machines, apart from the cardio ones which I could easily do outside for free, meaning I am basically spending 35€ a month on stuff I don't really use. Instead I decided to invest in some weights and smaller gadgets and train at home. In that way I'll be able to do whatever and whenever I like. Maybe I'll sign up again one day, but not till I have more time, money and a car to do so.

If you workout from home, I'd love to hear some of your favourite workouts and gadgets to try! :)

Weather

The weather has literally been going crazy this month. One day it'll be pretty Spring weather, next day it'll be burning hot and two days later I have a driving lesson and the streets are flooded. The past two days have been mentally hot (till flooded streets during my driving lesson), yet today we are back to slightly warm but not hot weather. I'm very exited to go to the pool though as soon as it's nice again, as now I've finally got the time to do so.

I still need to get a new bikini as mine was kinda small last year already, so leave me some ideas where to look below. I'd love to hear your ideas! :)
Also need to hurry up and buy some new shorts because I literally have one pair left which has gone a little big on me since I've been working out and another one that I bought last year and is now too small cause I gained so many thigh muscles. :D
I got some really cute sandals though, which I cannot wait to wear!

Blogging

Now obviously I had to take a step back from blogging for the past few weeks, which is why there weren't many posts, but I am more than exited to finally get back on the road. I've got so many ideas that I am hoping to get on here real soon, and I'm also thinking about doing a blog makeover (Any suggestions/ideas/inspirations are very welcome!). There's an exploring trip planned, some outfit shoots, challenges, back to school stuff etc - so get exited! I definitely am! :)

Wedding Season

If you haven't read my Wedding Season Inspiration post yet, definitely check it out - I loved creating it!

I actually happend to write that one a day before I was going to a wedding at the beginning of June. And let me tell you - that wedding was phenomenal! They didn't do a bling bling full on wedding, and it was in a very weird venue at first thought, but it was the prettiest party I've ever been to (not counting the goose poo on the playground). They got married in the church and the party then went on at a sea which had a beach club within. The weather was literally so nice compared to what the news had predicted! It was such a magical place, especially at night with fairy lights and candles everywhere. There were palm trees and the beach, and everything that you need for a beach type wedding. We even got our own wine glasses with our names on! There were performances, and  an amazing and very delicious cake - it was literally perfect.

2016 goals update

There will hopefully a be a full post about this at the end of the year, but as we are already halfway through the year, I thought I'd give you a little update about how I've been doing so far. If you haven't read that post yet, HERE is a link.

I mentioned that I wanted to keep on teaching myself some Swedish with an app that I've had for quite a few months now. There have been days where I've been doing very well, yet I tend to forget doing my daily session quite a lot in between. It usually depends on how much I've got to do that day, or how lazy I was. But I'm still enjoying it quite a lot, even if I can't say much.

Caring less about what other people think of me, is definitely a point I had a lot of thoughts about in the past few months, and I actually feel like I've gotten a lot better at it. I still get shy when I am supposed to talk to our American exchange student in class, as I have these thoughts buried that she's going to think I'm an absolute piece of wannabe-british crap. Weird I know. But yet, I have stopped caring about it in a lot of other situations. I care a lot less when I'm out and about or when I'm choosing my outfit or deciding whether I want to wear make-up that day or not, for example.

I'm not quite sure how well the parts about writing and reading more have been going. I have definitely not been writing more. I wrote a lot more blogposts, but due to school I haven't had the time or mood to write that often. I actually started using a book called "642 things to write about" which I bought last year, and I had a really nice idea for a new story, which I even posted on here, but apart from that, it hasn't been going that well. I actually think that's quite sad as it really is a passion of mine. Guess I've got some things to work on during the summer break. :)

Reading wise, it definitely depended on school as well, but I've come up with a little routine, meaning I'll read at least whilst having lunch and dinner. I also make sure to always have a new book ready for when I finish one, so I don't find an excuse to not read. So far I've read 16, currently on my 17th, meaning that so far my Goodreads Reading Challenge of 30 books in 2016 is going quite well so far. I am hoping there'll be a lot more than 30, but we'll see. Any book suggestions are always welcome! :)

Sorry for talking way too much about myself today, but I guess I need to accept that if I want to include more personal posts. :D I'd love to hear about your month! What were your favourite moments? What's the most awkward experience you've had this month? Let me know :) xx

Have a great day! ♥

5 Reasons Why You Should Study Outside

Welcome to a new post!

We all know how annoying it is, having to study for tons and tons of exams. We end up staying in our rooms 24/7, but doing a lot less than we are supposed to do or had planned on. I personally find it a lot easier though, to use the lovely spring and (in a few weeks) summer weather, and work outside instead. It's a great way to combine studying and spending time outside, and personally, it makes me a lot more productive most day. I thought I would give you a few reasons, why you should try that as well. Let's see if I can convince you, and if not, I guess you'll have to keep working inside your room :P.

1) Fresh air and environment

As much as it is much comfier inside on your bed, studying outside will keep your mind a lot clearer, as you are constantly breathing fresh air, helping your brain to work.

2) Less distractions

Don't get me wrong, there's still a lot of things that might distract you from actually working, like your cat coming outside and begging for some love or your mum bringing you a piece of that lovely strawberry cake. But there's less of a chance that you are going to get  up because you just remembered that you could clean out a drawer or reorganize your wardrobe, because you've got them right and front of your face, and they look a lot more appealing than studying. And with less distractions, there's a higher chance that you'll actually work.

3) Getting a tan (if you're lucky)

For the lucky people that actually do get a visible tan, it's the perfect way to be productive and start  getting a tan at the same time. Watch out for sunburns though...And to the people like me, that have to spend months on the beach in 30° weather in order to get a tan - remember you ain't the only one, but you can always pretend you could actually get a little tan this summer.

4) Your parents won't tell you off

I am pretty sure, that most of you have had this moment where your parents yelled at you, because you are apparently staying in your room 24/7 (which is obviously not true - *cough*), or because you aren't studying enough, Well, guess what. Studying outside is a way to end both kind of comments, and actually make your parents look at you like you're an alien.

5) You can use headphones and pretend you are in a summer music video

Am I the only one that does that? Please tell me I'm not, that would make me feel a lot better. Getting some headphones in with some lovely upbeating music, that makes me ready for summer, whilst sitting outside, is like the best thing ever. Whilst writing down weird physical stuff that no one understands, pretend you are being filmed for a music video. It's the best thing ever, and so fun!

Let's just hope you got a little inspired by this post to go and study outside. I will now get my stuff together and spend the last hours of sun on my trampoline, doing some homework, studying, and working on my essay (and probably getting another weird allergic reaction to that shiny thing up there in the sky :D).
What are you up to today? I'd love to find out about your favourite study spot as well. :)

Have a lovely week ♥

Dancing Through Spring

 Welcome to a new post!

This actually was planned to be the typical fashion post. Turns out me and my friend focused more on fun and pretty shots than actual fashion pics. I thought I would show you them anyway, as there are still so many pretty pics that came out of our little shoot in the woods.
Who needs tons of those typical fashion posts anyway? We had so much fun shooting it away for hours, so why should I keep that from you? For a few hours we were able to forget things like school and completely focus on making some pretty shots instead. If you ever feel like you need to shut yourself off the rest of the world for a while, go grab a friend and a camera, and leave it all behind for a few hours.

(Funnily (is that even a word? :D) enough it started snowing whilst I was editing the pictures.)

Sorry that they aren't all edited the same way, I just felt like some were better suited for a different effect. So now, let's dig into the pictures! :)

What I'm Wearing:

Jacket: ONLY
Top: H&M (last year)
Jeans: H&M
Shoes: Converse
Pearl bracelet: Bijou Brigitte
Heart bracelet: Mon Coeur

Thanks to my friend for shooting these, I loved that day. We should do that again as soon as possible. You know who you are ;) ♥

I hope everyone enjoyed this post, as I haven't done any posts like this since I started my blog. Leave me some requests for future blogposts below, maybe even types of outfits I should shoot. :)

Have a lovely week ♥

12 Things To Do This Spring

 Welcome to a new post!

Spring has finally arrived, and with it my favourite season of the whole year! Even though we didn't have a deep winter over here in Germany, it is so refreshing to finally go outside with a thinner coat, the sun shining in your face, the cold breeze following it, the birds singing, all the bright colours suddenly coming on again...I am so ready for this Spring!

Sometimes though, we all don't really know what to do with our free time, and now that it's getting slightly warmer and we are all still snuggled into big black warm clothes with hot chocolate and tea, there's a lack of things to do.

Since you all seemed to absolutely love my post about Things To Do During Winter Break, I thought I might as well have to another similar post about things to do this Spring, to give you some more inspiration for this season!

1) Go on a photography adventure

In nowadays societey we spend way too much time on our smartphones, laptops etc. I am not telling you to not do that anymore, but I think we should all take some time off from time to time. Grab a camera and your coat, maybe a friend, your family or your pet and go for a walk. Go somewhere calm but nice to spend some time and take as many pictures as you can. It's a way of disconnecting from your digital life, spending some proper quality time in the nature, and that is definetely what I am going to do as well. You will thank yourself afterwards, because promise me, you will have enjoyed it!

2) Buy some flowers

Flowers are something that I have always loved, since my mum has always had some at home due to her job, hence why it's pretty ironic why every real flower I put in my room dies quicker than it should :D. But go get yourself some nice bright flowers. It will not only make your room appear more spring like, but also puts you into a better mood. It's one of those little things, that can really brighten up a day.

3) Reorganize your wardrobe

I know this sounds pretty boring, but we all have to do it from time to time in order not to go completely mad at some point because we can't find a certain dress, for example. Especially in Autumn and Winter we tend to wear a lot more dark and muddy colours, but now that everything is finally brightening up again and it's getting warmer, why shouldn't our wardrobes do that as well? It might take you a few hours but it will be completely worth it, and you will thank yourself afterwards for an organized wardrobe.

 4) Start something new

This is the point where you can get pretty creative. Starting something new could be a new notebook or a new book, but it could also be starting a certain sport or starting to raise money for a charity close to your heart or starting to train for a marathon, for example. There is plenty of things that you could do! Try to mix it up this Spring, and start something new and exiting, and it might end up being your new favourite thing!

5) Plant something

It's that time of the year where the flowers are finally showing up again, brightening the grass and nature all together, but you could also plant something yourself. I am not saying that you should go and start a huge flower bed in your garden, but you could start with simple things like herbs, for example. You can get seeds and pots in every supplies store, some home stores even sell little pots for you to start with. Planting herbs will also freshen up your kitchen and food a little bit!

6) Picnic in the park

Yes, that's the name of one of Tanya Burr's lipglosses, but it's actually a pretty nice idea for a spring activity! Me and my family used to do this a lot during spring and summer, though not in the park, but all you need for a picnic is a little patch of green, a blanket and tons of food. If you don't want to go to a park, you can always do it in your own garden! It tastes just as nice, but you are on your own, and if you've forgotten something you can easily run back. I don't really know what makes picnics so fascinating and magical, but they are such a nice thing to do, and to be honest they also make great pictures for your Instagram feed :D.

7) Ride a bike

In Spring I seem to be all about exploring the nature I guess, but riding a bike is another lovely thing to do to spend some time outside and away from your phone, playstation and computer. Go look up some nice ice cream places or restaurants in your area for example and drive there! We love doing a trip to an ice cream place near us, which is around 11 kilometers there and back, which sounds so much, but it's so refreshing, and also good for your health (apart from the ice cream, but okay let's not talk about that :D)!

8) Redecorate your room

Spring is the time to add colour to your life again, as I already mentioned, so you could always do that with your room as well. Buy some flowers, add some new bright pictures, put down your christmas decoration :P, and get some new and brightening things. It will brighten your mood as well, whenever you go inside.

9) Bake something fresh and fruity

The weather is getting slightly warmer, but it's still a little fresh, so why not bake something just as fresh and fruity as spring! There is plenty of cakes or cookies or whatever you want to make out there for you to bake and enjoy. If you don't have any idea, ask your mum or nanny, or simply scroll through Pinterest the whole day and find yourself something. It will look nice, and taste amazing, and isn't that worth the work?

10) Exercise

Yees I know this one is a stereotype and not everyone is a sporty person or is able to get themselves out of bed for it, but you could always try something new. Exercising is really healthy for your body, and just a small little workout each day or each few days can already make a huge difference. Try the Blogilates workouts on Youtube. They are pretty quick but not to easy, and if you want to start having a proper workout plan, you can always download one if you subscribe to the newsletter. There's even beginner workouts, and it's a way of using your freetime and also doing something for your body, maybe even outside in the fresh sun!

11) Do a digital detox

We all know how hard it is to leave our phones and other electronics alone for a few hours at some points, but it can actually be quite a relief to not focus on it at all. I actually did an iPod detox the day I started writing this blogpost, and I absolutely enjoyed it. I am so focused on my iPod some days since I mainly use my phone for WhatsApp, that I tend to forget to do other things that I truly enjoy. So I turned it off for a Sunday until a few minutes before I went to go to sleep, and I still had a great time doing things like baking, reading an pre-writing some blogposts. Think about doing it, because it really is really relieving, and I want to do it more often as well now. It will really make you think a bit more about turning your consume down.

12) Dance in the rain

Since my blog name obviously is DANCINGINTHERAIN23 I had to include this point. It's not only about the actual message behind those words, but in this case it's about the actual words. It once started raining on a summer day when I was on the trampoline with my friends, and we stayed on it and jumped and danced around on it in the rain. I still remember it so well, because I had the time of my life at that moment. It was so magical. Try it. Go out in the rain and dance, forget your worries and enjoy your life! (Don't forget that you can easily catch a cold 'n stuff like that if you do it for too long, so please limit your time and get yourself into some new clothes and into the warm house!).

Make sure to leave me some inspiration below and tell me what you are looking forward to the most this spring. :)

Have a great day! ♥
